HomeServiceReports.org's founders have nearly 50 years of combined history with the nation's leading free consumer directory, website and direct mail companies. With extensive experience in consumer product design and distribution, they have been key leaders of new product and market launches throughout the country in a number of industries, including Apartment Homes, Autos, Boats, General Merchandise, Motorcycles, Home Remodeling, Home Improvement, Home Repair, Industrial Equipment, New Homes and Food Services. In Charlotte specifically, our founders have launched and managed products in the Home Improvement, New Homes, and Autos categories.

As homeowners, our founders recognized a need for reliable information about home improvement and repair. Armed with expertise in consumer information and home improvement, both nationally and in the Charlotte market, they launched an exceptional resource that reassures homeowners while providing "Homeowner Approved" companies with new business opportunities.

Based on extensive homeowner surveys, our website and Annual Report feature some of the very best home improvement contractors in various home service categories, including air conditioning, heating, plumbing, roofing, tree services, pest control and much more. Our product also includes hundreds of tips for your next home improvement project.

James Moon

President, Home Service Reports and HomeServiceReports.org

An executive operator with a strong new product strategy, consumer information and home improvement background, James earned his BBA in Finance and MBA from the University of Houston. After graduating first in his class, James began a career building businesses supported by research and rooted in academic analyses. Over his career, James has applied this passion for details in management and sales-related positions at the Federal Reserve Bank, Verizon Wireless, Trader Publishing Company and Primedia. Within the consumer information industry itself, James has held key executive and sales management positions in various industries, including New Homes, Home Improvement, Apartment Homes, Autos, Boats, Motorcycles, Heavy Equipment and General Merchandise. In his most recent corporate role, James was national Vice President of the Homes Division for Primedia, managing 28 markets including Charlotte, and 3 homes-related titles and their respective websites. When not working, James enjoys time with his wife, and their 3-year old son and new born daughter.

Ryan Ritchie

Vice President, Home Service Reports and HomeServiceReports.org

A senior-level operator with significant distribution experience, Ryan is a key component of the Home Service Reports executive team. He earned his BA from Oklahoma State University, and soon started a 13-year, and highly decorated career with the nation’s leading distributor of free publications. While with Distributech (the circulation group at Primedia), Ryan held several key management positions from General Manager to Regional Director to Group Director, ultimately leading an operations and sales force of over 220 employees spanning the western half of the United States. Based on his significant contributions to the distribution side of the business, he was promoted to Regional Director and then Group Director of Primedia’s flagship product Apartment Guide, one of the most widely used Apartment Home publications. Ryan left Primedia to start his own direct mail company, where he became an expert in direct mail marketing before selling his business and joining Home Service Reports. Ryan enjoys his spare time with his wife, two daughters and son.

Susanne Shaw

Metro Charlotte Research Director, Home Service Reports and HomeServiceReports.org

A General Manager with an extensive background in home improvement and sales in the Charlotte, North Carolina market, Susanne manages all phases of our Metro Charlotte Home Service Reports operation. She earned her BA in English at the University of Virginia, and then began what would become an extremely successful marketing career. One of the most pivotal steps in her career involved joining New Homes Update, and launching the widely respected Today’s Custom Home product in the Metro Charlotte and Atlanta, Georgia markets. Featuring the area’s top custom home builders and various home improvement vendors, the Today’s Custom Home product was eventually acquired by Primedia, which is where her path crossed with our other founding partners. Susanne now applies her extensive home improvement experience to making sure that Home Service Reports is the most reliable resource for selecting home improvement contractors. When not serving Metro Charlotte home service providers, Susanne spends quality time with her husband, and her two teenage children.

Judson Tillery

Director of Operations, Home Service Reports and HomeServiceReports.org

A production and operations manager by trade, Judson earned his BS from Georgia Southern University in Printing Management with a Minor in Business Management. Soon after graduation, Judson began a 11-year career with Primedia, first as an artist working on various titles, such as Apartment Guide and New Home Guide, and then ultimately as the National Director of Production Operations for the Auto Guide. In this final role with Primedia, Judson oversaw all facets of developing and publishing Auto Guides in 13 markets, while managing a team of almost 30 production and support personnel. At Home Service Reports, Judson manages product design, development and production, conducts homeowner research and applies his artistic touch to both our website and marketing collateral. When not making Home Service Reports look good, Judson spends quality time with his wife, and writes, produces and plays music.
